Swapped a pushrod tube onj a guys van the other day and tightened fan belt and the bugger is running like poo wont idle properly either. tried adjusting idle and shortening accelorator cable but still wont sit at idle te screw dont even meet the cam.
Loses all power on hills.
Basically I have done nothing to affect the running of the van and having only driven it in and out of the workshop I dont know if it was like this before I had the bus. Sounds tappety from 1 and 2 but as its a WBX and it has stickers everywhere saying its hydraulic tappets and not to adjust them i am at a bit of a loss as to whts wrong with the damn thing.
When he follwed me frommine to workshop I know he couldnt keep up but I simply dont know if this was the van or driver, he swears engine was great before i touched it.
Im at a total loss and need some help please.
Ive taken carb off and checked everything there.All I can see is that the carb mounting blocks rubber has deteriorated and carb does move on this when throttle pulled.
Cant detect any air leaks anywhere all the usual stuff I have checked, even removed plugs and cleaned them up although some where dirty on threads etc.
leads and plugs do look old so it really could do with new bits ie a full service.
