What is the resistor for?
If it's for the indicators to slow down the flash rate the neatest way of doing this is to swap the indicator relay for one of the modern fully electronic versions as these don't require any resistive load. The ones GSF sell are fully electronic and are a drop in replacement.

And here's how to wire in a resistor to overcome the problem of LEDs only allowing the current to flow one way:
(don't forget, you still need a resistor next to the LED if it's not a 12 volt version)
