Hi all,
It's been about 6 years since a member left an Angel VW card on my bay windscreen outside the flat I was renting in Jesmond and finally I've got round to joining up.....
To be honest it's mostly through embarrassment rather than laziness as just after the card was left I took my van (which was a light blue bay panel conversion at the time) off the road to have extensive body surgery. It went to Jay for the engine to come out, then to a body shop for a year's worth of slow surgery (all rusty bodywork removed and replaced with shiny new metal) and finally off to Tommy for a rest for six months until he could lovingly caress it and make it all shiny again (its now a light rhubarb colour on the bottom and cream on the top)
I got my bus back from Tommy about 4 years ago, eventually found a new wiring loom and started to fit that when I found a bit more rust in the engine bay and there unfortunately things stopped there
The shiny bus is now sitting in my garage at home with a covering of dust
a rusty hole in the engine bay, no engine and gearbox and no insides hence the embarrassment
So, I've now promised myself (and my wife) that I'm going to get it back on the road sometime this year and have arranged for a body shop to take it back from me again and restart the process later on this month hopefully
So that's my bus introduction (I'll put some photos up sometime soon once I've found out how). I hope that I'll get a bit more involved now that I've joined up as it'll help to spur me on along the way to becoming a proud bus owner again
